The Elevation Indicator

I’ve received several messages about my custom-made elevation indicator. It’s actually pretty easy to construct, as long as you have my template… so here it is!

First of all, you’ll want to take the file and have it printed on laminated labels; this can be done at your local FedEx Office and they call the product “lami-labels.” Next, cut along the crop lines. Then, carefully apply two of the trimmed out labels to opposites sides of a dice box. I guess you could say the labels are flanking the dice box!

EH-OH!

After applying the labels to the dice box, purchase some colored hair ties. Most grocery stores keep these in the make-up and beauty aisle. A package with several colors works best.

The elevation of the creature is indicated by moving the hair tie up and down over the numbers on the dice box. The top set of numbers are a multiplication table and the bottom set indicates the height, allowing for an altitude of 1 foot to 1000 feet. You can even connect a second dice box to the bottom of the labeled dice box to really give your flying creatures a boost!

Last, but not least, here are some pictures of the Elevation Indicator in action.
